Travelling to Tignes
Traveling by air
Tignes is can be accessed easily throughout the year via various forms of transport. The alps are primarily served by four airports; Lyon, Chambéry, Grenoble and Geneva, all of which have regular flights from the UK.
Traveling by train
Bourg St-Maurice train station is the nearest station to Tignes. This is served at all times of the year by French mainline services. Eurostar also runs a service from London to Bourg St-Maurice via Lille throughout the winter season. The resort is then a 35 minute bus or taxi ride up the mountain.
Traveling by road
Road access to the Tarentaise region is remarkably good thanks to the 1992 Albertville Olympic games. Transfers from the above Airports can be made entirely on motorways as far as Moûtiers (36 miles from Tignes) and then on roads that have been widened to accommodate the hundreds of buses that use them throughout the year.
A public coach service is available between Geneva Airport, Bourg St Maurice station and Tignes.
